The Rosie Hood Trio comprises former BBC Performing Arts Fellow and Horizon Folk Award nominee, Rosie Hood, melodeon-player and percussionist Robyn Wallace (Bellamira), and fiddle-player Rosie Butler-Hall (The English Fiddle Ensemble).

Three quarters of The Rosie Hood Band, they formed in 2022 to develop the sound that singer and songwriter Rosie Hood had begun to explore in her 2017 release The Beautiful & The Actual, described by The Guardian as “poetic class”. Along with fiddle-player Nicola Beazley The Rosie Hood Band released their album A Seed Of Gold in late 2023, showcasing their chamber-folk interpretations of traditional and contemporary material.

One quarter of The English Fiddle Ensemble, Rosie Butler-Hall plays with European, Irish and Scottish musical influences and roots in music for ceilidhs and social dances. Melodeonplayer Robyn Wallace has played for award-winning brass bands and dance teams across the country as well as the Bellamira Ceilidh Band. Robyn and Rosie BH bring a great dynamic lift and drive, continuing Rosie's vision of re-working traditional English songs, as well as writing and arranging original material, touching on nature, human struggle, women’s voices and unheard stories.

With outstanding musicianship and a deep understanding of tradition, The Rosie Hood Trio combine sensitive playing with Rosie’s evocative voice, skilfully and empathetically lifting each song. The Rosie Hood Band's dynamic and emotive performances create an inimitable sound that whilst rooted in tradition, has contemporary appeal.
